Local
Extensions All the phones within the local office or home environment are considered local extensions. A telephone or other analog communication device, such as a fax machine, modem, or answering machine, that is physically plugged into the TalkSwitch unit. Local extensions have three-digit identifiers that begin with 1 (e.g., 111, 112, etc.). Networked models have extensions (121 to 128) on box 2 and extensions (131 to 138) on box 3 etc. Depending on the model, a single TalkSwitch unit can share two to four incoming phone lines with four to eight local extensions. Phones, Faxes, Answering machines, in fact any analog telephone device can be connected to a local extension. |
